Visited this place for the first time today! I think weekdays are less crowded than weekends. We preordered online and there was really no wait to get our wristbands. We did a double session which was perfect! The beach area is great for parents, you can see the course and set up your chair/pop up. You can get in the water but will have to wear a life jacket, the water is not deep at all but they don’t allow you to touch water without a life jacket. There are fish in the water so be aware of that, kind of scary if you’re not ready for it. Over all a great time for everybody.
Our recent stay at the establishment was intended to be a memorable celebration for our son's birthday. While we put in our best effort to make the most of our time there, a few aspects left us feeling somewhat disheartened.
One of the areas that proved to be a challenge was the cost of items on the menu. Unfortunately, the pricing did not align with our expectations, which did impact our overall enjoyment of the stay. Additionally, the limited food options meant that we were required to make purchases solely from the provided menu, which we found to be on the higher side.
Furthermore, there were moments when we felt a bit unwelcome due to interactions with certain staff members. One particular incident involved a misunderstanding with the manager. While I was attempting to purchase ice cream inside the store, a miscommunication occurred regarding outside food. The situation could have been handled more smoothly, and it left us with a sense of discomfort.
While our stay had its challenges, we appreciate the effort that went into creating a celebratory atmosphere. However, based on our experiences, we have decided that this might not be the best fit for our future celebrations.
It is our hope that this feedback reaches the management, as we believe open communication can lead to improvements for both guests and the establishment as a whole.
Overall we had a good time. It would have been better had we been able to bring an ice chest (at least to keep the drinks we bought cold). Beach area could be a little bigger and drinks (beer & wine coolers) bought onsite should be allowed in the cabana area.
wake island is an enormous waterpark hidden in sacramento and is the largest waterpark on the west coast. they have inflatable obstacle courses on one side and wakeboard park on the other. we’ve been visiting at least once/twice since 2013 and they keep adding experiences/water activities. they get better and better after each visit. they have some merch and gears for sale. beach hut deli offers great bites (burgers, pizza, wings and fries) and drinks.
What an incredible place to bring the whole family. There are just so many cool things to do. We went out on a Friday and had an absolute Blast! My kids loved the floating obstacle course, the warm clean water and the amazing sand beach. We had some yummy pizza, burgers and beers for lunch. And got to sit by the wake boarders and watch them for over an hr tear it up. I HIGHLY recommend wake island for any party or just a chill day at the beach. So much better than Folsom lake or any other water park. This is a must do activity!
Love it here! So much fun.. Inflatables and obstacle course on the water! Swimming, zip lining, wake boarding, and inflatable hamster wheels on the water.
It's better to book online and during the week the aqua park is $20 and it includes admission to the standard beach. If you don't want to do the aqua park you can just pay $10 to be on the standard beach all day. My son's loved the aqua park obstacle course and they want to go back asap.
This place was awesome!!!! The blue water was a great touch. Next time I would definitely want to book training for the wake boarding, it looked really fun but we weren't able to do it this time. The owner, Noel, came by and talked to us at our cabana, and as we were recovering from the Ninja race course. It's definitely an oasis here in the region.
We did an hour long session on the inflatables and man was I tired. If you want to have grip, you can wear the grip socks or I saw some people wearing water-shoes. But it's really fun otherwise to slip around especially when you're with a group of friends.
The pizza was really good, we also ordered the loaded fries (forget the actual name), some dibs, chicken strips, a few beers (which have to be consumed/enjoyed near the food area). It was all really good, I'd say the fries had a little extra salt on them, so be weary of that or just ask for light salt. They also do pitchers of soda and water, which was great. Food and drinks aside from alcohol are allowed back at the cabanas.
The cabanas were awesome. They had tables and seating. Some things that could be useful are like towel hooks or somewhere to hang the life vests while you're taking a break. The cabana also has a wall on the backside, and a screen on each side, that can be rolled down to keep the sun out. But each cabana DOES have an Asian broom, good for sweeping away the sand from the beach. The sand gets really hot, at least for me, so it's useful to have flip-flops/sandals.
Overall, it was a really fun experience. So much fun that we were so tired, we didn't do the hamster wheels. Definitely recommended by friends to focus on one activity, otherwise, you might be super exhausted.
